thanks mom!
since i started college, i also started living away from my family. i go dorm, though my house isn't really that far. my school is in Manila while i live in Quezon city.
things changed during the second semester of my second year. all of my dorm mates have gone separate ways. in that case i have to go and find my own room as well. my mom decided to get one room for me and my sister, in other words my sister will go dorm as well. we were to able to find a cheap one 12K a month but it does not include water and electric bill and the room is in the same building. but dad when my dad sent the money for the dorm, he said that he will not sent money anymore for that month, yet that month is also the start of our classes. so what should we do? so i decided not to go dorm anymore. it was okay for me at first but when we went to my dorm to get my things, hayst!!! i cannot explain the feeling i had. it was extreme sadness. but things got easier each day. i just had to adjust. on the first day of class for that semester, i was very happy--it was my first time to eat real food in the morning! thanks, mom!
when i was in dorm, i don't eat breakfast, my breakfast is usually combined with lunch so it was calle Brunch.
real food everyday, horay! :)

Let Me Help You
(Sorry. I should have mirrored the cam before taking shots.)
note:
1.any Bible will do
(know what
Bible you understand easier)
(I would suggest Youth
Bible if you are young enough, but if you want what almost everyone have, go
for NIV [New International Version]
or NLT [New Living Translation] or KJV [King James Version])
2. any Devotional book will do
(this is suggested to beginners; some do it chapter by chapter[I
mean the Bible chapter])
(If you are asking for Devotional Books/Booklets I would suggest Our Daily Bread)
3.dictionary is optional
(but it will help you understand words you don’t usually
encounter)
4. a note pad is a must
(if you have notes of your devotion, you can browse it again
and again. These notes will help you remember of what God has been telling you)
“Why do I do this DEVOTION thing?”
We always pray to God whenever we need something right? But
how do we know His answers to our prayers? The answer is READ THE BIBLE.
The Bible is God’s Word. So if we read the Bible we will
know what His answer is. Praying is our way of talking to God, and the Bible is
God’s way of talking to us. But the Bible does not talk, that is why we READ
it.
We read the Bible not just to know the answer of God to our
prayers, but also to know His purpose for our lives.
The Bible will also help us in facing life’s challenges like
financial problems, facing difficult decisions, encountering pressures, and
even temptations of the flesh. Everything you need, you will find it in His
Word, the Bible.
transformation, necessary eh?
on my birthday, it did not
seemed to be just a typical day for me.
as I traveled my way to
school, everything is just right.
It was a Wednesday. My
friends are the ones who greeted me first. Then all my other friends greeted me
as well, as well as my super crush number 2.
My friend, Jecker, entered
the room and said “Barbs, ano nanaman yung drama mo sa baba? Ang ganda!” then
smiled. And I was like, “ha? Anong DRAMA? Sa freedom wall?” and then he
replied, “oo. May manila paper.” But really, hearing that there was something
for me in the freedom wall, I felt like I’m very much loved.٭٭
When my I heard those from
Jecker, I immediately asked my bff Cielo if she’s the one responsible for it
but then she said, “Hindi ako, madami akong tinapos kagabi.” And I was like for
real? The first person that popped out of my mind when I heard those from jecks
was her but then she said she’s not the one who did it.
I’ve thought of my dorm
mates as the suspects of that wonderful crime because none of them texted me or
even greeted me that morning.
So when vacant came, we
agreed to eat at the canteen down below (redundant I know haha) but I really
wanted to see the manila paper kuno
but they kept avoiding me.
We went to KFC to eat, ah I
don’t know if early lunch or late breakfast. I did not treat them. Haha ‘cause
I have only php 200 with me. haha I was guilty cause during their birthdays
they treated us out or they really have a celebration. But past is past. Haha
In KFC, I was shocked
because our class president, Madam Monique had a surprise for me. she was
sitting in front of us, but just as
I was to savor my first bite I saw a little smoke. And I was like, why
is there a smoke? Are they smoking inside? And then everyone sang the never
dying song HAPPY BIRTHDAY. And then she brought out the cup cake with a very
interesting candle? Haha it wasn’t a candle at all. It was a match stick! Haha,
I have to make my wish very fast because the candle kuno won’t last. It was suuuuuuper fun though.
In school, we still have 1
class before PE. I need to attend my PE class so that I can check the MANILA
PAPER jecker was telling me about earlier.
On our way to the gym, I was
really excited. I was looking forward for that paper thingy. But I was shocked
to see that it wasn’t a manila paper at all. It was a tarp! And it came from my
bff, SHE LOU!
When we were in the washroom,
while changing our reg. uniforms to our PE uniform an alien number texted me.
And I was like, huh? My golly! am I this popular? But as I go through the text
I saw this name, “-eldred”. Yeah my bff’s ahhmm, not boyfriend, ahh! Childhood
friend. Haha
He almost reveal the
surprise for me, actually he did. Good thing my bff does know how to act. GOOD
ACTRESS indeed. I ask her, “cielo, anong tarp?” then she replied, “tarp? Anong
tarp? Sinong may sabi? And then I said, “si eldred, binate nya ako tapos tinanong
nya kung okay lang daw ba yung tarp na ginawa nya. Konti lang daw tinulong mo
dun.” And guess what she did? She immediately texted eldred and scold him I
guess. Eldred texted me that it was nothing and the like..
Cielo was so good in acting
that I was again, for the second time convinced that it was nothing. So I ended
up not expecting something.
My idea of an ideal individual
According to Mr. Waldo Emerson CONFORMITY is the
number one enemy of the self-reliant
individual also known as the ideal
individual.
Conformity is simply going with the flow or following the
trend.
Conformity avoids any person in making unique contribution
to the society. How? When an individual conforms, he just follows and when he
follows he just adopt what his idol is doing. In other words, originality will
not exist.
But in opposition to Mr. Emerson’s idea of conformity, I do
believe that conformity is necessary.
But I do agree that somehow conformity do avoid an
individual to make unique contribution. But uniqueness is present in every
individual that is why I do believe that even when a person conforms to its
society his nature is to share a unique idea to it.
Most of the time a person needs to conform. Here’s an
example,
Ana is a college student and she is staying in a dormitory
together with five more students of the same school. Three of the students
she’s living with sleep at two or three in the morning because they chat all
night long. Because they chat at night, they make noise and the lights are not
off till they decide to sleep. But Ana and the two more students can’t sleep
with lights on, so they decided to talk to the three students about the lights
off schedule and the noise. The three students said that they would lessen
their noise and that lights will be turned off before one but it lasted only
for two days, so Ana reminded them again about the agreement. Again it lasted
for a while and then back to what it used to be, so Ana and the two other
decided to conform instead of reminding and reminding them every time.
See, there are a lot of incidents where conformity is
present. I do not believe that conformity is wrong, sometimes a just need to
conform for the better.
An ideal person is not afraid to speak out his mind and to
do what he feels like doing even if he knows that it is wrong for others. An
ideal person believes that what is true in his private
heart is true for all men.
I know someone that has all the
characteristic of that of an ideal person (characteristic of an ideal
individual according to Mr. Emerson). She speaks whatever she feels like saying
without thinking of the consequences it may have. She has this motto, “what Bessie
wants Bessie gets” (the name is not my friends’ name). And she does everything
she wanted without considering her colleagues.
Now I have this conclusion in my mind, I
believe that the true ideal person must
know when to conform and when to speak his mind.
